California Mold Infestation Attorneys

California Mold Infestation Lawyers Often referred to as the "next big thing" among construction defect attorneys, mold is not just another "band wagon" on which to jump. At EISENBERG LAW FIRM, we have a team of experts assembled to evaluate mold claims and any injuries claimed to be caused thereby. Mold often develops in areas where there is an excessive amount of moisture. The damage caused by the presence of mold is not limited to property damage, prolonged exposure to mold may can result in significant and permanent injury. If you believe you have suffered injury and/or damage due to mold, contact us!

Some homes and buildings experience water seepage or age leaking that results in the formation of toxic mold. People often believe mold to be harmless, but some molds are highly toxic and extremely dangerous. The occupants may develop certain kinds of allergic reactions or headaches. They could also experience symptoms like lethargy, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, irritation of mucous membranes, eye or even nasopharyngeal irritation & sensitivity to odors. These symptoms are often present only when people are in the affected buildings & not when they are elsewhere. Left unchecked and untreated, some molds can eventually spread to such an extent that they cover everything in the building decimating the health of everyone exposed to it. Sick building syndrome refers to contaminated buildings that sicken people who occupy them. Pollutants, compounds, and metals are the primary cause of sick building syndrome.

The contributor to sick building syndrome can be broadly categorized into:

    Major combustion Pollutants
Inappropriate & mishandling of heating devices to a large extent can produce pollutants at harmful levels. Carbon monoxide (CO), which is an asphyxiant, and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and sulfur dioxide (SO2), which are irritants, are three of the more common products of combustion pollutants in the home.

    Biological air Pollutants
Biological like dander, molds, dust mites are carried on by animals and other people through homes & buildings. High relative humidity, flooding, inadequate exhaust of bathrooms or kitchens, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, air conditioners, drip pans under cooling coils, pets, and components of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems are all sources of biological air pollutants. Three types of human disease can come from these biological pollutants: infections in which pathogens invade human tissue; hypersensitivity diseases which involve specific activity of the immune system; and toxicosis in which biologically produced chemical toxins cause direct toxic effects. In many cases, "sick building syndrome" may be related to microbial contamination in buildings.

    Volatile Organic Compounds
Scents and hair sprays, household products such as finishes, rug and oven cleaners, paints, thinners, dry cleaning fluids, some copiers and printers, some glues and adhesives, markers, and photo solutions are among some of the common products that may emit VOCs. One of the major irritants in "sick building syndrome" is formaldehyde.

    Heavy Metals
Over the years, exposure to heavy metals has reduced in buildings. The concern about heavy metals as an indoor air pollutant is greatest in older, deteriorating housing or during rehab or reconstruction projects of older buildings.
